Fantasy Football: One QB, RB, WR, and TE who are primed for huge Week 2 performances

Week 1 was filled with plenty of strange outcomes in the fantasy football landscape. With that said, it is time to turn our attention to Week 2 after an exciting start to the 2023 season.

Week 1 was filled with plenty of strange outcomes in the fantasy football landscape. With that said, it is time to turn our attention to Week 2 after an exciting start to the 2023 season.

In Week 1, none of the consensus top-five quarterbacks (Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow) finished as top-five scorers at their position.

Here are one QB, RB, WR, and TE primed for huge fantasy football performances in Week 2:

QB: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

After an impressive road victory against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, Jared Goff and the Lions are 1-0. Now, they get what will presumably be an easier matchup against a Seahawks defense that just got torched by Matt Stafford and the unproven group of Rams receivers trying to fill in for star wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Stafford threw for 338 scoreless yards but had no issues targeting Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell all day long. Both receivers recorded 119 yards en route to a stunning road victory.

The Lions are hosting the Seahawks at Ford Field, a domed stadium, and Goff was excellent when games were played under a dome. Per ESPN, Goff threw for 2,977 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 66.3 percent of his passes and recording a 103.7 passer rating in 11 indoor games in 2022.

Last season Goff fared well against the Seahawks, throwing for nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns in what turned out to be the highest-scoring NFL game of 2022 (Seahawks won 48-45). Goff is set up to bounce back nicely after a quiet Week 1 performance.
