Rashaad Penny was a healthy scratch on Sunday against the New England Patriots, leaving Gainwell, D'Andre Swift and Boston Scott in the Eagles' running back rotation.

Gainwell was clearly the lead guy though, with 14 carries for 54 yards along with four catches for 20 yards against a tough Patriots' defense. Swift and Scott each had just one carry and one catch in the game, and Gainwell played 21 more snaps than Swift.

It's fair to assume Gainwell won't dominate touches quite like he did on Sunday every single week, and he wasn't so phenomenal that he'll keep Swift, Penny, etc. at bay., but he also wasn't so bad that he'll become a complete non-factor in the Eagles' backfield. In Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, he could very much see the most touches again.

If Gainwell is lined up for 10-15 touches again, he's a viable flex play in 12 and 14-team leagues in Week 2. At minimum, he's worth adding in those same leagues in case his Week 1 usage has staying power.
