5 Fantasy football trades to make before Week 2

Although it wasn't a great week for many stars, Week 1 gave us a lot of information on how we can improve our fantasy football rosters going forward.

#1. Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens, Week 1: 17.7 pts

I think this Zay Flowers guy might be the real deal. In a game where the Ravens never really needed to pass the ball, their first-round rookie caught nine of his 10 targets for 78 yards, and rushed twice for nine yards. Most importantly, his 47.6 percent target share was the highest in the NFL in Week 1.

The 5-foot-9 Flowers was all over the field, and already has the trust of former MVP Lamar Jackson. In PPR formats, No. 4 posted 17.7 fantasy points, placing him in the top-20 wide receivers. Players like Kendrick Bourne and Jakobi Meyers won't have the fantasy performances they did every week, and the precedent Flowers has set can easily support fantasy WR2 status in most formats.

Jackson and the Ravens might have to pass more than they originally planned to with running back J.K. Dobbins now done for the year, and although All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews is due to return eventually, that will affect Rashod Bateman more than Flowers. The 23-year-old was the target on 67 percent of Jackson's third and fourth down passing attempts, which is sure to drop when Andrews returns, but Flowers has made good returns on the monumental trust placed in him early in the season.

We shouldn't forget about Odell Beckham Jr. either as he held a route participation of 100 percent, but he appears to be the team's No. 2 receiver and their preferred deep threat; his ADOT of 14 yards was tops among Ravens pass catchers. Until we see otherwise, Flowers is going to be a busy man and a fantasy force, and Baltimore will keep feeding him the rock as long as he keeps producing like he did on Sunday.
