Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers' offense is not good, and that's putting in nicely. Hubbard and Miles Sanders again closely split the backfield work Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, but Hubbard had a touchdown among his 45 rushing yards while adding five catches for 47 yards. It might be surprising to learn he has at least 65 total yards in three of his last four games.

Carolina's next three games, all division opponents, are tough as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons all entered last week in the top-five (as in stingiest) of the league in fantasy points allowed to running backs (Yahoo!, 0.5-point PPR). That said, all three allowed over 90 total yards and/or multiple scores to a running back in Week 12.

Hubbard consistently gets double-digit carries, and Sanders may not encroach on that very much at this point. The play-caller change back to offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, after Monday's firing of head coach Frank Reich, looks like a good thing here. In three games Brown called plays earlier this season, albeit with Sanders banged up, Hubbard had 15, 16 and nine carries with snap shares of at least 50 percent in all three.

As flex options go during what could be a tough bye week for some people in Week 13, Hubbard is a high-floor, low-ceiling option with reliable touch volume, work in the passing game, and some chance at a touchdown. It's not going to be exciting to have him on a fantasy roster, but those in a running back pinch can do a lot worse moving forward.
