Fantasy Football: Playing the waiver wire in Week 16
Jake Browning, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
So much for the idea the Minnesota Vikings' blitz-happy defense would give Browning trouble in Week 15, at least for the whole game. He wound up completing 29 of 42 passes for 324 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, as he fell just shy of making it three straight games with at least 20 fantasy points.
It's not a great matchup for Browning in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and in his first start of the season against them back in Week 12 he didn't light the world on fire (227 yards, one touchdown). But Pittsburgh has allowed three touchdown passes in each of their last two games, to Bailey Zappe then Gardner Minshew.
A fly in Browning's ointment is the uncertain status of wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder). But he still has a good set of weapons around him, and he's a viable streaming option in Week 16 (and possibly Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs).
