Fantasy Football Week 1: Best last-minute advice

Many fantasy players like to wait until the final bell to set their lineups. If you're scrambling, here are some last-minute thoughts.

As you set your lineups looking to produce every single point you can in this Week 1 slate, don't forget to take a look at the list of inactive players.

There are already some big names that have been declared inactive for Sunday's early kickoffs:

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints
Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
JaMycal Hasty, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
D.J. Chark, WR, Carolina Panthers
Zack Moss, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Chase Young, DE, Washington Commanders

Looking at this list may not bring an immediate sense of excitement, but I always like to look for players who will get a chance to step up with their opportunity in situations like this, particularly in my DFS lineups.

In Baltimore, you may have already been planning on going without Mark Andrews, but if you're looking for a DFS option at TE, I think Isaiah Likely, at $3000, could be a great option.

The same can be said for Jamaal Williams, who will be making his debut with the New Orleans Saints. Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller are both unavailable, so Williams could get a lot of work. And remember how many TDs he scored for the Detroit Lions last year? Even if he gets two 1-yard TD runs this week, he's worth the spot in your lineup.

With D.J. Chark out, Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick, will be looking for guys to help him become the first No. 1 overall pick at QB to win his first start since David Carr in 2002. Veterans Adam Thielen and Hayden Hurst could be terrific options if you're limited on options.

The Washington Commanders might be the most attractive defense this week, going up against Josh Dobbs and the lowly Arizona Cardinals. At $2800 in DFS play, it makes a lot of sense to take them. But without Chase Young, they might take a slight dip down.

Here are my favorite DFS plays today and who knows, maybe some of these guys could help you win some cash?
