Fantasy Football: Week 5 hits and misses
So how did everyone do this weekend?
If you had the number one drafted player for each position you would have had on your roster Patrick Mahomes (19.2), Christian McCaffrey (13.8), Justin Jefferson (5.8), and Travis Kelce (22.7). They would have scored 61.5 points for your team.
If you had Justin Fields (33), Travis Etienne (36.4), Ja’Marr Chase (52.2), and George Kittle (27.7), you would have 149.3 points. Fantasy Football is hard.
Biggest hit of the Weekend: Any team that had Ja’Marr Chase. Over 50 fantasy points were scored this weekend.
HITS - Players that scored more points than expected.

My hits and misses
Players I thought had the best matchups for week four.
PLAYER | TEAM | POSITION | PROJECTED | ACTUAL |
---|---|---|---|---|
Joe Burrow | Bengals | QB | 16.8 | 24.4 |
Jordan Love | Packers | QB | 17.4 | 8.0 |
Breece Hall | Jets | RB | 10.9 | 28.4 |
James Conner | Cardinals | RB | 10.9 | 4.6 |
D.J. Moore | Bears | WR | 9.9 | 49.0 |
Garrett Wilson | Jets | WR | 9.0 | 8.4 |
Dalton Kincaid | Bills | TE | 5.4 | 3.9 |
Zach Ertz | Cardinals | TE | 7.3 | 9.0 |
Totals | 86.3 | 135.7 |
After five weeks: Projected points 435.8. Actual points 523. Players over 17, Players under, 11, and even (within 2 points) 12
Joe Burrow, Breece Hall, and D.J. Moore were huge hits. James Conner left the game early. Jordan Love was a big miss for me.
I put out there five things to watch for this year.
1) The Jets won’t make the playoffs but the Packers will. Well after the awful game Love had both teams are now 2-3.
2) Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill both have a chance to break the all-time receiving record. The record is 1,964 yards which means they have to average 115 yards per game. Hill after 5 games has 651 yards and 130 per game. Jefferson has 571 total for 114 yards per game. Jefferson only had 28 yards before leaving with a hamstring issue.
3) Patrick Mahomes breaks the passing record – He needs 5,477 yards or 322 a game. After five games he hasn’t hit 322 yet. At 1,287 passing yards, he is at 257/game.
4)Mark Andrews - Andrews will not end the season as a top-10 fantasy tight end- Andrews has had two good games and two bad games. Currently, he is TE5.
5) Cooper Kupp - With a first-round draft pick you will get 5th-round production- He had a great first game back with 118 yards and 20 Fantasy points. In just one game he has more yards than Van Jefferson has for the entire five games.
