"And when I felt like I was an old cardigan
Under someone's bed
You put me on and said I was your favorite"

Taylor Swift, Cardigan (2020)

Unlike Harris, Minnesota Vikings tailback Alexander Mattison desperately needed a strong showing against the Los Angeles Chargers after the Cam Akers trade, and he took his chance well.

In Weeks 1 and 2 against the Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles, Mattison rushed a total of 19 times for only 62 yards, with no scores on the ground. With two tough matchups out of the way, the 25-year-old came through for his fantasy football owners against the Chargers with 93 rushing yards on a season-high 20 totes, and added five receptions for 32 yards to finish with 17.5 fantasy points.

For fantasy managers that benched Mattison this week, the Vikings bellcow haunted all of your 'what-ifs'. The Dalvin Cook handcuff we knew came back to us, and even with Cam Akers in the picture, there's no cause for concern.

Minnesota is a pass-first team led by Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson, and they've also got guys like Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson to supplement them. It may be best to avoid Mattison in tougher matchups on the ground, but he proved he's no old cardigan in Week 3.
