#3. Alvin Kamara (ADP - 56.3, RB17)

On Aug. 4, the NFL suspended Alvin Kamara for three games for a violation of the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension, alongside poor rushing effiency over the last two years, has seen Kamara's fantasy stock slide big time. It is fair to postulate that the Saints' entire offense took several steps back after the retirement of Drew Brees, but that will change in 2023.

Kamara will be limited to, at a minimum, 15 games this season, which is fine. What isn't fine, though, is seeing names like Dameon Pierce, Jonathan Taylor, and Najee Harris come off the board before him. Aside from 2022, Kamara has never finished outside of the top 10 in PPR scoring at the running back position. In 2020, the 28-year old was the highest scoring non-QB.

Over the past two seasons, the Saints have not had a great QB situation, nor have they had two-time NFL All-Pro Michael Thomas. Led by Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston, the Saints offense was easy pickings for opposing defenses, who knew they had to stop Kamara and only Kamara. Now, the team has Derek Carr, Jamaal Williams, a more seasoned Chris Olave, a healthy Thomas, and Jimmy Graham, which forms a significantly improved offensive nucleus.

Of course, Williams will eat into Kamara's workload, just like he did with D'Andre Swift in Detroit and Aaron Jones in Green Bay. For Kamara though, this is nothing new. The worst-case scenario is that the star tailback finishes the season around where he's being drafted, which is a mid-tier RB2. The best-case scenario is that he posts another RB1 campaign, like usual. As long as you can find cover for the first three games, draft Kamara with confidence and don't look back.
