Indianapolis Colts: 5 RB options to replace Jonathan Taylor
By Derek Hryn
Zack Moss
Already on the Colts roster, Zack Moss may be first in line to get his shot at replacing Taylor if he's traded. Moss does have a 700-yard season on his resume from his time with the Buffalo Bills, and he averaged a solid 4.3 yards per carry last year in a reserve role for Indy, so there is some continuity and trust in this situation.
Moss would only be a short-term solution, but he provides some experience. If Taylor is gone, then the Colts could roll with the Moss train to start off the year before adding a bigger weapon.
However, Moss is more of a one-dimensional runner, who pushes the football downhill with his strength. He doesn't force defenses to account for him on every snap like Taylor. A broken arm could also sideline Moss to start the year, so that would probably cost him the job if he can't recover in time. While he provides experience, Moss would be a major downgrade from Taylor's dominance.
