Players to avoid on Saturday Slate for DFS of Super Wild Card Weekend
By Andrew Smith
Tight Ends to Avoid
Dalton Schultz ($4,400)
Schultz will be lining up against the best defense against tight ends from a fantasy perspective on Saturday. In addition, while Schultz was the second-most targeted pass catcher on Houston, we saw Brevin Jordin play more snaps and even caught a touchdown.
While Schultz could be a significant focus from a target perspective, he could disappoint if he cannot find the end zone. In addition, the Texans could welcome back Noah Brown, who was absent last week, to the offense.
Travis Kelce KC ($6,100)
The highest-priced tight end on the weekend slate has disappointed in the season's final month. Since week 15, Kelce has not topped over 10 DraftKings fantasy points and has not had over 50 receiving yards in this span.
The last time he played the Dolphins, he recorded 14 yards on three catches. However, I would not be surprised to see Kelce and Mahomes rekindle their magic and take care of business against Miami.
I need to see it to believe it when it comes to Kelce. He very well might burn me this week (the Dolphins are the 26th worst against opposing TEs), but I do not feel comfortable drafting him at his price.
D/ST to Avoid
Houston Texans ($3,000)
I would instead target defense in the night game due to the harsh weather conditions and the several injuries the Miami Dolphins could potentially have entering the weekend. I also do not mind the Cleveland Browns' defense, as they have been one of the best in the league, but they are the most expensive choice on the Saturday slate.
