Players to avoid on the Sunday Slate for DFS of Super Wild Card Weekend
By Andrew Smith
Wide Receivers to Avoid
George Pickens PIT ($5,200) and Diontae Johnson PIT ($5,000)
After having the two best games of the season, George Pickens did not receive a single target in their must-win Week 18 game against Baltimore. However, this led to Johnson receiving five targets and 89 yards along the way, but 71 of them came on one catch.
The Steeler receivers have been disappointing all season, and the quarterback play has not helped. One could catch a touchdown and see opportunities late in the game if the Bills were to pull away in this one, but both have been unreliable and are not worth the investment.
Tight Ends to Avoid
Pat Freiermuth ($3,600)
The Steelers will lean on their running backs to pull off the upset against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills dominate against tight ends, and Freiermuth saw only two targets in last week’s must-win game. Like the Steeler receivers, he could see opportunities as the Steelers try to pull themselves back in this one, but it could be too late.
D/ST to Avoid
Detroit Lions ($3,100), Los Angeles Rams ($2,700), and Green Bay Packers ($2,300)
Looking at the Sunday slate alone, the two afternoon and night games could be potential shootouts, none of which bode well for selecting a defense for your lineup. I would avoid them all and stick to the early game selections.
