32. Chad Ryland, New England Patriots

2023 rank: 30
Field goals: 16-25 (64%)
Extra points: 24-25 (96%)

It was just his rookie year but Ryland had one of the worst seasons for a kicker in recent history in 2023. As a result, New England brought in Joey Slye to compete for the job in the offseason, leading to a real chance Ryland is not on the roster by Week 1. Even if he is, Ryland has a long way to go to reach fantasy relevance, especially with his low volume of attempts due to New England punting at the second-highest rate last season.

31. Anders Carlson, Green Bay Packers

2023 rank: 23
Field goals: 27-33 (82%)
Extra points: 34-39 (87%)

Carlson was not terrible in his rookie season but his accuracy struggles plagued Green Bay all season. He was the only kicker to end the year making less than 90 percent of his extra point attempts and could not buy a field goal longer than 40 yards. Carlson is currently listed as the starter on the depth chart but is still fighting for his job with veteran Greg Joseph, who has proven to be much more reliable. It will come down to what Green Bay values on cut day.

30. Jake Bates, Detroit Lions

2023 rank: NA
Field goals: NA
Extra points: NA

After what Brandon Aubrey did in 2023, it is not a surprise to see another team sign a former college soccer player who played in the UFL. It is, however, a bit of a surprise to see that kicker be Bates, who did not attempt a single field goal in college and was solely tasked with kickoff duties at both Texas State and Arkansas. Then again, Aubrey did not even play college football and Bates holds the record for the longest field goal in UFL history at 64 yards.

29. Wil Lutz, Denver Broncos

2023 rank: 22
Field goals: 30-34 (88%)
Extra points: 29-31 (94%)

Once known for his fantasy excellence early in his career, Lutz's accuracy has noticeably regressed in his last two seasons. The move to Mile High in 2023 helped him rebound from an atrocious 2022 campaign but despite taking the second-most field goal attempts of his career, Lutz ended the season with his second-lowest point total. Still just 30, Lutz should be in line for a rebound year with the revamped Denver offense. The team clearly believes in him as he remained the only kicker on the roster throughout the summer.

28. Cade York, Washington Commanders

2023 rank: NA
Field goals: NA
Extra points: NA

Following a one-year hiatus, York returns to the NFL as the only kicker on Washington's roster. As a rookie in 2022, York struggled with consistency, hitting just 75 percent of his field goal attempts. He entered the league with a notoriously strong leg but has yet to find the consistency that would make him an asset in fantasy.

27. Chase McLaughlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2023 rank: 16
Field goals: 29-31 (94%)
Extra points: 33-33 (100%)

Assuming he makes Tampa Bay's final roster — which he is expected to — 2024 will be McLaughlin's first season playing with the same team he was with from the year before. McLaughlin is a near guarantee from short distance, having missed just one career field goal inside of 40 yards, but is extremely shaky at distance. His lack of range limits his fantasy value along with the expected regression of the Tampa Bay offense.
