3 emergency options to replace T.J. Hockenson in championship game

For those fantasy football managers still competing for a league championship, or maybe a consolation prize, news of T.J. Hockenson's season-ending injury comes at a terrible time.

Hockenson is a top five fantasy TE and without him, owners are going to have to scramble in the last week of the fantasy season. We have you covered here.

For those managers who have Hockenson in a dynasty league, this situation will be one to monitor as the torn ACL and MCL he suffered on Sunday leaves him in jeopardy of not being able to be on the field when the 2024 season kicks off. In that case, you will need to be prepared to replace him during the offseason either by making a trade or finding a tight end in the rookie draft.

But for the more imminent future, here are three players you should look to add off of your waiver wire before the final week kicks off.

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers

A third-round pick out of South Dakota State, Tucker Kraft had a slow start to the season with the Packers but has come on as of late after fellow rookie Luke Musgrave went down with an injury.

Kraft has at least four receptions for at least 57 yards in each of his last three games and he has one touchdown in that time. He is not going to have a massive performance in all likelihood, but in a one-game situation, he can give you double-digit points and at the tight end position, that's often good enough.

The Packers have also had issues with injuries at the wide receiver position lately with Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks both missing time in Week 16. If the team is without either or both of those players this week, Kraft could get some extra targets.
