4 quarterbacks to avoid starting in fantasy football playoffs

For fantasy football teams that are looking ahead to the playoffs, these are four quarterbacks that should remain on the bench during that period.

Sam Howell

at Los Angeles Rams (Week 15), at New York Jets (Week 16), vs. San Francisco 49ers (Week 17)

In his first season in Eric Bienemy's offense, Sam Howell has been a fantasy football starter almost every week. The Commanders are throwing the ball more than anyone and Howell has had some huge weeks with 300 or more passing yards in four of the last five weeks. He also has thrown nine touchdowns during that stretch with another two rushing.

The concern for Howell is that two of the three games during the fantasy football playoffs are on the road with the Rams in Week 15 and the Jets in Week 16. It doesn't get any easier when they return home to face a 49ers defense that is playing better than anyone right now.

This season, the Rams have been one of the best at stopping passing touchdowns with only 11 allowed on the season, which is tied with the 49ers, and the Jets are not far off with 13 allowed. While Howell will be asked to throw alot, it probably won't amount for much in terms of fantasy points.
