Jahmyr Gibbs (at Los Angeles Chargers)

Jahmyr Gibbs has had consecutive Top 5 finishes among running backs the two games before their bye week in Week 9. In Week 7, he had 68 rushing yards, nine receptions, 58 receiving yards and one touchdown. He followed that up with 152 rushing yards, five receptions, 37 receiving yards and a touchdown.

This week, the Lions are facing a pretty stout Chargers defense against the run that has allowed only 89.8 rushing yards per game but they have given up eight rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the 10th most in the NFL.

However, one of the reasons that Gibbs has been so productive is that David Montgomery missed those games due to injury. The veteran appears set to return this week and he was essentially the lead running back in that backfield when active.

When considering the matchup and the uncertainty about how the backfield work might be split, the rookie should be avoided this week for fantasy football.
