Dameon Pierce

The Houston Texans looked like they had struck gold on Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft with the selection of Dameon Pierce in the fourth round. As a rookie, Pierce had almost 1,000 rushing yards with another 165 receiving yards on 30 receptions.

The Texans were expected to be better this season, although maybe not as good as they were, with C.J. Stroud and a new coaching staff. However, as the season went along Pierce wasn't as big of a factor in this offense and he lost touches to Devin Singletary.

In fact, in the final six games he played he had 10 or fewer carries in every game and only had one game with more than 10 rushing yards. It may not be over for Pierce as Singletary is set to be a free agent and could be with another team next season. However, he is probably a late round flyer at best compared to being a running back to target in the Top 3 rounds of fantasy football drafts.
