Chase Brown

The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Chase Brown in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and he has limited playing time so far as a rookie with only two rushing attempts and three receptions through five games. He is currently on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury.

While Joe Mixon is under contract through next season, the Bengals could end up releasing their starting running back as it would save them roughly $5.75 million in cap space. If they were to do that, then Brown would have a great chance of earning the starting running back job in Cincinnati.

Chase Brown is similar to Zamir White as he is a big body running back that can handle 15-20 carries per game. He is not going to have big plays but it wouldn't be surprising with a quarterback like Joe Burrow leading this offense he can find room on the ground and average something like four yards per carry.

If that does happen, Brown immediately jumps into the RB2 discussion for 2024.
