1. Ezekiel Elliott (New England Patriots)

The best running back is one that was a popular waiver wire add last week after Rhamondre Stevenson suffered an ankle injury in Week 13. The Patriots turned to Ezekiel Elliott who looked like the running back that racked up yards with the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 14 against the Steelers, Elliott had 22 rushing attempts for 68 rushing yards while adding another seven receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown.

The Patriots are going to likely be without Stevenson for a few more weeks and Elliott should remain the lead back in this offense. It is not a high-powered offense but Elliott showed he can still be a factor in fantasy football.

Over the next three weeks, the Patriots play the Chiefs, Broncos, and Bills which all have had issues against running backs. If Elliott is still available on the waiver wire, he is the running back to add before the fantasy football playoffs.
