Monday was the final day for college football players to declare the 2024 NFL Draft and USC quarterback Caleb Williams seemingly used every last minute to declare. However, he did do just that on Monday afternoon and is the favorite to be the number one overall pick. Whether that is for the Chicago Bears or another team remains to be seen.

Williams would win the Heisman Trophy in 2022 after he had an incredible season with 42 touchdowns and over 4,500 passing yards. This past season he didn't play at the same level but was still very good with 30 passing touchdowns and over 3,600 passing yards.

The now former USC quarterback has drawn comparisons to some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL like Patrick Mahomes. He has incredible arm strength but what he is able to do when improvising is what makes him special as he doesn't have great athleticism but enough to escape trouble and make a play.

Is Caleb Williams already the best quarterback for dynasty football?

It is an interesting question to ask considering Caleb Williams hasn't even taken an NFL snap. However, quarterback prospects like Williams don't come around very often.

There are a number of great quarterbacks currently in the league with Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen as the established stars. This season there has been other younger quarterbacks emerge like Jordan Love and C.J. Stroud that could make a good case to be that top quarterback.

In the end, any of the five quarterbacks mentioned wouldn't be a bad pick for the first quarterback taken in start-up drafts for dynasty football leagues. It shouldn't take long for Williams to produce like a Top 5 quarterback and knowing that he is just starting his NFL career, managers should give him serious consideration.
