Fantasy Football: 5 players to add off waivers to replace Christian McCaffrey

The final week of the regular season is here and with some fantasy football leagues still preparing for a championship, waiver wire additions are critical. One of the reasons is that Week 18 championships are challenging because some teams will look to rest starters ahead of the playoffs.

That is the case for San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who suffered a mild calf strain on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. He didn't return in that game and Kyle Shanahan already said the star running back won't play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

For fantasy football managers who are in championship games this week, they likely have Christian McCaffrey because he has just been that good this year. He currently leads the league in rushing yards with 1,459 rushing yards with 14 rushing touchdowns while adding another 564 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.
