Zach Evans

The Rams lost Kyren Williams for at least four games after they placed him on injured reserve and the starting spot seemed like it would go to sixth round rookie Zach Evans. However, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Sean McVay had other plans as Royce Freeman and Darrell Henderson combined for 30 carries while Evans was limited to only one.

The problem is that Williams appears like he will be back shortly after sitting out the mandatory four games so even if Evans does get the majority of the work moving forward, it is going to be short-lived. It is hard to imagine that will happen though after Freeman and Henderson, two players who just recently signed with the Rams were able to come in and be as effective as they were.

Zack Moss

Zack Moss was another running back that most found on the waiver wire but he has been very effective to begin the season. He had at least 70 rushing yards each of the first four games and found the end zone four times during that stretch.

However, Jonathan Taylor was recently activated off the PUP list and he looks poised to regain that role as the featured running back. Last week against the Browns, he had 18 rushing attempts for 75 yards with one touchdown while catching three passes for 45 yards.

As for Moss, he did still have 18 carries but only managed 57 yards. The Colts were trying to ramp up Taylor and combined with the recent contract extension he got, it is clear that this is Taylor's backfield and Moss probably only will see 5-10 carries moving forward.
