Cam Akers

Without question one of the biggest busts this year in fantasy football has to be running back Cam Akers. During the summer, he was drafted as a Top 50 pick and considered to be a good RB2.

The reason was that he was entering the season as the Rams top running back and looked to be in line for most of the work out of the backfield. Unfortunately, whatever transpired between Akers and the Rams’ coaching staff from the prior season carried over to this season.

Akers would get 22 rushing attempts in the first game of the season but only mustered 29 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown saving that week. However, that was the last week Akers would play for the Rams as he would be traded to the Minnesota Vikings and over his first three games has had only 11 rushing attempts and five receptions.

However, he did have 10 attempts against the San Francisco 49ers and his role could be growing for managers who were patient enough to hold onto him.
