The second season with Brian Daboll as head coach of the New York Giants has been nothing short of a disaster after they made the playoffs last season. The Giants have been riddled with injuries and unfortunately have reportedly suffered another major one against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, starting quarterback Daniel Jones could have suffered a torn ACL. If that is the case he will miss the remainder of the season. Last season, Jones was a productive fantasy football quarterback due in large part to his ability to make plays with his legs with over 700 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

He showed enough for the Giant to bring him back this season but he has failed to improve and has really struggled this season. Prior to Week 9, Jones would throw for more than 150 yards in only two games and had two passing touchdowns to six interceptions.

He still showed he could make some plays with his legs with 40 or more rushing yards in three of his five games.

What does Daniel Jones' injury mean for fantasy football?

At this point of the season, Daniel Jones likely was only an option in two quarterback or superflex leagues and even then wasn't necessarily a clear start. The impact is more around the other players in the offense.

Darren Waller was having a pretty productive season in his first year in New York but was just added to the injured reserve. He should return in time for the fantasy football playoffs but it remains to be seen who is throwing him the ball.

The only quarterbacks the Giants have available moving forward is Tommy Devito and Matt Barkley, who is currently on the practice squad. It will be interesting to see if they add a free agent quarterback and someone like Carson Wentz might have some fantasy football value going forward.

As for Saquon Barkley, he likely gets even more carries but with defenses not concerned with the passing game, it will be much tougher for him to pick up yards. He is going to be a volume back but not very efficient with those carries.
