While inactives for the games on Sunday were being released, there was some news about Jalen Hurts for the game on Monday night. The Eagles quarterback is dealing with an illness and was downgraded to questionable for the game against the Seattle Seahawks and this leaves a tough decision for fantasy football managers.

According to Adam Schefter, Jalen Hurts is still going to be traveling to Seattle but do so separately from the team. The Eagles quarterback is still hoping to play this week but if he can't then Marcus Mariota will get the start.

Jalen Hurts has been one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football this season

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has been one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football this season and has finished as a Top 5 quarterback in seven of the 13 games. This past week against the Dallas Cowboys was the first time he hasn't finished in the Top 12 when he had only 197 passing yards, and 30 rushing yards, and for the first time this season, he didn't have a touchdown.

If Jalen Hurts is active for the Philadelphia Eagles, then he should be in every fantasy football lineup but for the first week of playoffs for most fantasy football leagues, managers can't afford to have a zero at quarterback. This is the last game of the week and Marcus Mariota needs to be picked up for everyone who has Hurts.

The question becomes whether or not Marcus Mariota is a better option than another backup for managers. If Mariota were to play, he would probably finish somewhere between 12th and 15th among quarterbacks. It would be a downgrade from Jalen Hurts but it keeps the door open for fantasy football managers to start Jalen Hurts this week. That is worth the risk at this point with the potential Jalen Hurts has this week
