Justin Jefferson returns in Week 14 and needs to be in fantasy football lineups
The playoffs are right around the corner and one of the best wide receivers in fantasy football is set to make his return. Justin Jefferson began the 2023 season with three straight games with over 100 receiving yards and averaged nine receptions per game.
However, a hamstring injury in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs forced him onto injured reserve and he has missed the last seven games. After missing the previous seven games, he will be returning this week against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Justin Jefferson has a different quarterback but should be same results for fantasy football
Since Jefferson's injury, the Minnesota Vikings lost Kirk Cousins for the season due to an Achilles injury. They would trade for Joshua Dobbs right before the trade deadline and he has been the primary quarterback since then.
There was some questions entering the bye after Dobbs threw four interceptions against the Chicago Bears. They are sticking with Dobbs this week and that is probably the best news for Justin Jefferson's fantasy football value.
While most wide receivers are impacted by a change at quarterback, Jefferson should be in the same group as Ja'Marr Chase. Last week, with Jake Browning as quarterback he was still very productive.
This should be the case for Justin Jefferson and while Dobbs is not at the same level of Cousins, the offense should run through the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. He should have double digit targets in this game and get close to 100 receiving yards.
It is also a favorable matchup for Justin Jefferson as the Raiders have struggled against wide receivers recently with Garrett Wilson finishing with 93 receiving yards, Tyreek Hill having 146 yards and a touchdown, and Rashee Rice breaking 100 receiving yards and also finding the end zone.
