The San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was one of the best starts at quarterback for fantasy football this week against a below-average Arizona Cardinals defense. However, Purdy's day may be done early as he left with a head injury after taking a hit.

As NFL Network's Mike Garafolo noted, Purdy did walk off the field but he will need to be cleared now by an independent doctor to return to this game. Purdy was replaced by Sam Darnold as the 49ers quarterback.

Brock Purdy is able to return against the Arizona Cardinals

The absence of Brock Purdy was not very long as he was able to return before the end of the second quarter. This is good news for anyone starting Brock Purdy this week as he was a Top 5 option for fantasy football.

Over the past five weeks, Purdy has finished as the sixth best or better quarterback in four weeks and has thrown 13 touchdowns to only two interceptions during that stretch. He also has had back-to-back 300 yard passing games.

However, the return of Purdy is also a boost for the other players on the 49ers offense. This week, wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuels were some of the best options at the position and George Kittle remains a Top 3 tight end on a weekly basis.

The only player who probably wouldn't be affected by Purdy's absence is Christian McCaffrey as the 49ers probably would have run the ball more if Brock Purdy was forced to miss snaps.

Brock Purdy only has 83 passing yards in the first half but does have two passing touchdowns before halftime. If the Arizona Cardinals are able to keep it close, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback is probably going to have to keep throwing it and this is good news for anyone starting him in fantasy football.
