Fantasy Football News: Arizona Cardinals could open practice window for James Conner

The Arizona Cardinals are set to get Kyler Murray back on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons but he might not be the only offensive starter to return soon. Starting running back James Conner has been on injured reserve but could return as early as this weekend.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cardinals are hoping to open the practice window for Conner this week and could do so as early as today. This doesn't necessarily guarantee that Conner will play this week as the Cardinals would have 21 days to officially activate him.

James Conner has been mostly an RB2 during his time with the Arizona Cardinals but he might have a tough time producing at that level with some tough run defenses upcoming on the schedule. In the fantasy football playoffs (Week 16 and Week 17) the Cardinals face the first and fourth best defenses against the run.

If there is a team that is in need of a running back, he could be a good trade candidate now before he returns from injured reserve.
