Jonathan Taylor is one of the best running backs when on the field but unfortunately has missed seven games already this season. The good news is that the Colts' running back looks to be returning just in time to be a factor in fantasy football playoffs.

Taylor suffered a thumb injury that kept him out the past three weeks but he was able to practice most of this week and is listed as questionable for Week 16. Prior to his injury, Jonathan Taylor was playing some of his best football of the season with 15 or more carries in three straight games averaging 69 rushing yards per game, and had three total touchdowns.

Should fantasy football managers start Jonathan Taylor in Week 16?

Jonathan Taylor has been almost a must-start every week of his career and with Zack Moss dealing with an injury of his own, the Colts could look to give Taylor his normal workload immediately this week against the Atlanta Falcons.

The challenge for Jonathan Taylor is that the Atlanta Falcons have been pretty good against the run recently. Over the past four games, they have allowed only one total touchdown to running backs, which was a receiving touchdown.

During this stretch, the Falcons have gone against running backs like Alvin Kamara, Breece Hall, and Rachaad White. This defense has been able to contain some pretty good players at the position so it will be a tough game for Jonathan Taylor.

It would not be surprising to see Taylor get close to 20 touches this week against the Falcons but he might be held to around 80 total yards. If he can find the end zone, he is a solid start but that is far from a guarantee against this defense.
