Fantasy Football News: Khalil Herbert designated to return from injured reserve

Another player who could be returning soon is Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert, as he was designated to return from injured reserve on Monday according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Bears play on Thursday night this week against the Carolina Panthers so he may not be activated by then but Week 11 seems a more likely option.

Herbert was a popular breakout candidate this summer after a promising finish to the 2022 season and with David Montgomery signing with the Detroit Lions. However, that didn't transpire to begin the season as he had less than 10 carries in each of the first three games and 35 rushing yards or less in each game.

However, the last two games prior to his injury Herbert was much more productive as he saw more rushing attempts. During that stretch he had 28 rushing attempts and 179 rushing yards. The backfield might be a little more crowded now with the emergence of D'Onta Foreman but if Khalil Herbert could have some potential if he gets his norman workload back prior to his injury.
