Friday is an important day of the week in the NFL as teams playing on Sunday have to provide injury designations for the players on their injury reports. This week, the focus seems to be on the quarterback position as a few players that would be starters in fantasy football are big question marks heading into Week 9.

Fantasy Football News: Matthew Stafford has yet to practice this week

One of those quarterbacks is Los Angeles Rams' Matthew Stafford who is dealing with a UCL injury in the thumb on his throwing hand. According to ESPN's Sara Barshop, Stafford was not on the field during the open portion of practice to the media.

If Stafford is not able to play then it would be Brett Rypien who gets the start against the Green Bay Packers. This would mean there is one less quarterback that fantasy football managers could start with confidence but it raises questions about whether or not to start Cooper Kupp and Puka Nuka.

If Rypien does start, it is worth considering benching them if you have them on your team depending on the other options.
