#4. Indianapolis Colts TE Jelani Woods

With the emergence of young Indianapolis Colts like Anthony Richardson, Josh Downs, and Zack Moss, sophomore tight end Jelani Woods seems to have become the forgotten member of the band.

The hulking 6-foot-7 tight end only started two games in 2022, but was able to accrue 312 yards on 25 catches in his 15 appearances, as well as three scores through the air. Woods was placed on injured reserve back in August, but is now poised to return to a Colts team that has performed way better than their expectations.

Kylen Granson is the only Colts tight end to have had a route participation above 40 percent in any game this season, and he's also the only one to have had a target share in the double-digits in any game. However, he's accounted for only 10 percent of the team's air yards, which goes to show he hasn't been able to establish himself as a true factor in Indy's passing game.

From Weeks 12-18 in 2022, Woods had a route participation of 49 percent and a target share of 14 percent - both tops amongst his peers at the position. For a 2023 Colts team that has only three passing touchdowns in as many games, Woods would provide a huge boost in the middle of the field and especially in the red zone.

After Richardson suffered a concussion on a red zone rushing touchdown in Week 2, the Colts need to do what they can to protect their star signal caller from himself. Giving him an improved option between the hashes like Woods is a good start.
