Fantasy Football Rumors: Raheem Mostert unlikely to play in Week 17
This is the final week for most fantasy football leagues and for any managers who got this far, they probably reached this game because of Raheem Mostert. The Miami Dolphins running back has been one of the best players for fantasy football this season being a late round add in drafts earlier this summer.
The veteran running back has had a career year with 1,012 rushing yards and a league leading 18 rushing touchdowns with another 25 receptions, 175 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. Mostert's production this season has been on par with some of the best and outside of Christian McCaffrey there hasn't been a better running back.
Unfortunately, this week managers will have to find a replacement for Mostert as NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Mostert is expected to be inactive for today's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Mostert did not practice at all this week due to knee and ankle injuries but was listed as questionable for Week 17.
Should fantasy football managers start De'Von Achane or Jeff Wilson in Week 17?
The absence of Raheem Mostert does open an opportunity for De'Von Achane and Jeff Wilson to see an increased workload this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Achane has had flashes this season with four Top 6 finishes. However, three of those occurred in Weeks 3-5 and before his injury.
Over the past three weeks, Achane has finished outside the Top 24 among running backs. As for Jeff Wilson, he has had only one game this season with double digit touches in Week 12 and had over 70 yards from scrimmage.
Both running backs are big play threats and they only need one long run to have a productive day. However, the Ravens defense is one of the best in the league and this week it might be better to look at a running back like Zamir White instead of a Dolphins running back.
