Fantasy Football: Is Tyson Bagent a good start in Week 8?
For the second week in a row, it looks like undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent will be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields is still dealing with a thumb injury and after missing the first two practices of the week, it is hard to imagine he is ready for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, Tyson Bagent was very efficient completing 21 of 29 pass attempts for 162 passing yards and one touchdown while also adding 24 rushing yards. According to FantasyPros, it was good enough to finish 21st among quarterbacks for the week.
Should Tyson Bagent be started in fantasy football in Week 8?
The matchup this week is great for the Tyson Bagent as the Los Angeles Chargers have struggled against the pass as they are allowing the most yards per game at 310 yards and the fourth most passing touchdowns with 12.
While it is a great matchup, the ceiling for Tyson Bagent is just too low to be starting this week in fantasy football. The Bears are likely going to try and grind a win out and lean heavily on the run game. It will eat up the clock and keep Justin Herbert on the sideline.
Last week against the Raiders, Bagent only had 29 pass attempts and this is probably going to be the goal again this week. While this was good enough to finish 21st at his position, it was also a week with six teams on the bye week.
The options might have been limited last week and some fantasy football managers may had to start Bagent with no other options. However, this week there are no teams on bye and there are better options likely on the waiver wire that have higher ceilings than Bagent.
