Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)

Curtis Samuel was one of my sleepers in Week 13 and had a decent game with four receptions for 65 yards after having nine receptions for 100 yards on Thanksgiving against the Dallas Cowboys. The past two weeks has been a bump from what he has done on the season, which his season stats are 51 receptions, 508 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

However, the increased production over the past two weeks could just be due to matchups as the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins have struggled to defend slot receivers this year. The schedule for the Commanders doesn't get any easier down the stretch with games against the Jets and 49ers in Week 16 and Week 17.

The tougher schedule, combined with the fact that the Commanders are on bye this week, doesn't make Samuel a great replacement for Tank Dell. However, if the other wide receivers aren't available it is worth adding to the bench now.
