Fantasy Football: Week 6 hits and misses
So how did everyone do this weekend?
If you had the number one drafted players for each position you would have had on your roster Patrick Mahomes (18.3), Christian McCaffrey (14.2), Justin Jefferson (0), and Travis Kelce (21.4). They would have scored 53.9 points for your team.
If you had Dak Prescott (24.5), Raheem Mostert (34.2), Amon-Ra St. Brown (30.4), and Travis Kelce (21.4), you would have 110.5 points. Fantasy Football is hard.
Biggest Hit of the Weekend: Any team that drafted Raheem Mostert. After scoring 34 points this makes three weeks now scoring over 25 PPR Fantasy points.
HITS - Players that scored more points than expected.
PLAYER | TEAM | POSITION | PROJECTED | ACTUAL |
---|---|---|---|---|
Jared Goff | DET | QB | 16.62 | 28.42 |
Tua Tagovaloa | MIA | QB | 20.06 | 28.48 |
Kyren Williams | LAR | RB | 7.04 | 25.8 |
Raheem Mostert | MIA | RB | 14.42 | 32.20 |
Adam Thielen | CAR | WR | 7.94 | 18.5 |
Rashid Shaeed | NO | WR | 5.82 | 16.3 |
Brenton Strange | JAX | TE | .89 | 8.7 |
Dalton Schultz | HOU | TE | 4.45 | 12.1 |
NOTES:
With both Jahmyr Gibbs out and David Montgomery getting injured Jared Goff threw for 353 yards and two touchdowns. It looks like Gibbs may be back next week so expect Goff to be back to the 200-250 yard range.
Mostert just keeps on racking up Fantasy points. He is now ranked RB7 even though the only back with more points is McCaffery.
Shaheed is someone to keep an eye on. Third-most targets, but he has the deeper targets. He also has the most receiving touchdowns.
MISSES - Players that scored less points than expected
PLAYER | TEAM | POSITION | PROJECTED | ACTUAL |
---|---|---|---|---|
Kirk Cousins | MIN | QB | 17.46 | 10.74 |
Geno Smith | SEA | QB | 17.88 | 11.92 |
Christian McCaffrey | SF | RB | 16.79 | 11.2 |
Rachaad White | TB | RB | 9.34 | 3.8 |
DeAndre Hopkins | TEN | WR | 8.91 | 2 |
Tee Higgins | CIN | WR | 8.84 | 2 |
Dawson Knox | BUF | TE | 4.96 | 1.7 |
Chigoziem Okonkwo | TEN | TE | 4.95 | 1.8 |
NOTES:
The Titans have two on this list. This may be the start of a trend.
McCaffrey left the game early. I will be monitoring this all week.
Geno Smith is getting the yardage, just not getting any touchdowns. Zero this week and only one week this year with more than one.
My hits and misses
Players I thought had the best matchups for week six.
PLAYER | TEAM | POSITION | PROJECTED | ACTUAL |
---|---|---|---|---|
Matthew Stafford | RAMS | QB | 18.3 | 13 |
Bryce Young | Panthers | QB | 14.8 | 12.7 |
Alvin Kamara | Saints | RB | 12.3 | 17.4 |
Isiah Pacheco | Chiefs | RB | 13.2 | 15.8 |
Jordan Addison | Vikings | WR | 10.9 | 11.8 |
Michael Pittmann | Colts | WR | 11.5 | 19.9 |
Zach Ertz | Cardinals | TE | 7.2 | 4.2 |
Cade Otton | Buccaneers | TE | 4.9 | 2.5 |
Totals | 93.1 | 97.3 |
After six weeks: Projected points 528.9. Actual points 620.
Players Over: 20
Players under: 15
Players even (within 2 points): 13
Stafford has played six games and has six touchdowns. He is now a much better real QB than a Fantasy QB.
Kamara and Pittman were both good plays.
I put out there five things to watch for this year.
1) The Jets won’t make the playoffs but the Packers will. I don’t think anyone predicted the Jets to come out on top over the unbeaten Eagles. The Packers had a bye week.
2) Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill both have a chance to break the all-time receiving record. The record is 1,964 yards which means they have to average 115 yards per game. Hill is the number one receiver by 142 yards over the next closest receiver. He has 814 yards giving him 136 yards per game. Looks like I will miss with Jefferson out for a few games.
3) Patrick Mahomes breaks the passing record – He needs 5,477 yards or 322 a game. After only his second time this year throwing for over 300 yards in game six, he has a total of 1,593 equaling 265 a game. He still ranks sixth in passing yards this year.
4)Mark Andrews - Andrews will not end the season as a top-10 fantasy tight end.- Andrews had another 65 yards but no touchdowns. He now ranks as TE4.
5) Cooper Kupp - With a first-round draft pick you will get 5th-round production- Kupp is trying to make up for the lost time. With 148 yards in week six, he now ranks WR54.
