The much-maligned, often ridiculed signal caller of the Minnesota Vikings is having a great start to the 2023 season... statistically.

If you have Kirk Cousins on your fantasy roster, you are in good shape at the QB position. Through three games, depending on your scoring system, he is either the No.1 or No. 2 scoring QB in your league.

He is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes and has thrown for 1,075 yards with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions. Though Vikings fans would likely trade him in for another passer as the team sits at 0-3, fantasy owners should hold onto him and ride him to the title game.

Before the season started, I selected a "sleeper" player at each position in fantasy football this year. While most of these picks have yet to provide much value, the selection at QB, Cousins, was a direct hit.

The best part about Cousins, and the reason he made that list in the first place, is because he is going to be throwing the ball a ton this season. The Vikings defense is going to give up points and with a stagnant running game that no longer features Dalvin Cook, Cousins is going to need to throw the ball 30-40 games a game at least to keep Minnesota in it.

He also has some great targets to throw it to, including the best wide receiver in the NFL, Justin Jefferson. Rookie Jordan Addison has looked great so far and he also has T.J. Hockenson and K.J. Osborn. This is a passing offense that you'll want to get a fantasy piece of, and Cousins is at the steering wheel.

In most drafts this summer, QBs went off the board in some order of Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. As of right now, Cousins has outscored all of those guys in fantasy and you likely got him much, much later in the draft.

While Vikings fans will continue to be annoyed by the team's failures and things like Cousins struggling in primetime games, your fantasy team is going to reap the benefits of having this gunslinger on the roster, throwing for 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns on a weekly basis.

Next. Players you want and don't want. 5 players you want and 5 you don't heading into Week 4 of Fantasy Football. dark

If you have Cousins, hang onto him. If you don't, see if you can find the owner that feels like Vikings fans do and send a trade offer that boosts your chances at a championship.
