Without question, one of the biggest disappointments over the first part of the 2023 season for fantasy football has been Las Vegas Raiders' wide receiver Davante Adams. The former All-Pro has caught 47 passes for 539 yards and three touchdowns which aren't awful but not what was expected for a player likely drafted near the top of fantasy football drafts.

However, the struggles can't entirely be pinned on Davante Adams as the Raiders offense has not looked great and Jimmy Garoppolo has struggled in his first year with Las Vegas. The franchise made some significant changes this week by firing head coach Josh McDaniels and offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi and then announcing Garoppolo would be benched for rookie Aidan O'Connell.

Are these moves enough to trust Davante Adams moving forward in fantasy football?

The Raiders elected to name Antonio Pierce as their interim head coach and promoted Bo Hardegree as their interim offensive coordinator. Typically when changes are made midseason the teams end up playing better and this due in large part to going back to the basics and simplifying things.

The Raiders are likely to do that, especially with a rookie quarterback now under center. This will mean two things moving forward: run the ball with Josh Jacobs and lean on Davante Adams to help O'Connell.

Over the past four games, Adams has had double digit targets only once which defies logic for a wide receiver of his caliber. While the New York Giants have played pretty well, this should be a big game for Davante Adams and he is worth starting this week.

It won't be great every week with a rookie quarterback but this week with no tape for this new offense and what they might call, the Raiders have a slight advantage over the Giants and Davante Adams should benefit.
