Patrick Mahomes leads quarterback fantasy football rankings for Week 9

The quarterback position is easily the toughest to navigate this week for fantasy football. There are four teams on bye this week and three of those teams have quarterbacks that are pretty much starters every week (Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff) with Russell Wilson being the fourth quarterback.

On top of that, there have been a number of injuries at the position with Kirk Cousins being out of the season due to an Achilles injury. Meanwhile, quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford and Deshaun Watson are dealing with injuries that have their availability in question.

As well as quarterbacks making their first or second start this season, which includes Aidan O'Connell, Jaren Hall, Clayton Tune, and Taylor Heinicke. It remains to be seen exactly what they are going to do and starting any of those would be a gamble.
